I thought about the fact that we are often reluctant to engage in gossip because we fear hurting feelings, and denying information. I recently experienced a painful moment in my life that confirmed I knew what I was thinking, gossip is a terrible disease that destroys relationships. Gossip is a part of human behavior. Everybody have a time when we engage in gossip or be mentioned. It’s not like all gossip is bad. But there are some that has insanity-filled conversations. However, it could hurt another person and can also cause harm to others. People gossip not just because they are trying to cause harm, but rather to be nice to the person they speak with. Some say gossip brings people closer. It is a way to create a secret connection and makes people who talk feel as if they are part of a community. It is not always a matter of ill-intentional gossip. Some share information that is not authentic due to the fear of being in danger. For instance, they could identify cheaters who are suspicious to alert others. Such gossip is derived from a position of respect. If the allegations are false, the story is a source of rumors and could ruin reputations.
