The British physicist who brought science to a mass audience with the best-selling book “A Brief History of Time,” passed away on 14th March 2018 at the age of 76. Stephen Hawking suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and was confined to an electric wheelchair for much of his adult life.
He was diagnosed at the age of 21 and was one of the world’s longest survivors of ALS. He redefined cosmology by proposing that black holes emit radiation and later evaporate.
